Hakomi is a body-centered (somatic) approach to working with emotions.

In Hakomi, we view the body as a map of our inner world. The habits and patterns we hold in our bodies can point to the deeper beliefs and feelings that shape our lives. By exploring these patterns with mindfulness and compassion, Hakomi helps uncover and heal what’s underneath.

Research in neuroscience backs up this approach, showing how mindfulness, empathy, and memory healing can support lasting change. Hakomi is especially helpful for people struggling with depression, anxiety, or trauma.

Online Session: Hakomi & Herbs

In an online Hakomi session, you’ll be guided with mindfulness and compassionate support as you explore the patterns—thoughts, feelings, and beliefs—that may be limiting you. As you bring these patterns into awareness, you can begin to shift them, opening the door to making new choices, more ease in your body, and fulfillment in your life and relationships.

If it feels supportive, Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine can also be offered to help restore balance and relieve physical or emotional symptoms.

In an in-person Hakomi–Acupuncture session, the power of acupuncture and the depth of Hakomi therapy come together to support both mind and body. While acupuncture helps calm the nervous system and restore balance, Hakomi offers a mindful space to notice and shift old patterns—unhelpful thoughts, outdated ways of coping with stress, and emotional habits that no longer serve you.

Working with both the body and the mind in this integrated way opens the door to lasting change, greater resilience, and a deeper sense of well-being.

In-person sessions take place in Rupesh’s north Nanaimo BC office.
